Flag - Wilmington, North Carolina
September, 2000
Quite an old photo.
After work on a Friday, my friends and I would drive from Atlanta to Charleston or Wilmington (which was a bit further). I remember racing home from work, to find a car waiting outside ready to go. Late night drives, coffee and doughnuts at some rest stop on the way. Waking up the next morning and seeing this fine yellow sand and blue sky. I miss it.

Cedar Key
February, 2001
I was umemployed. Georgia was freezing cold. So when my mother and foster-sister came to visit I agreed to drive them around Florida. Seemed like a good plan.
It all was pretty much as it seems. It was early in the morning – Mum woke me up especially, so that I could see it (which I really appreciated at the time).
I was using my first “real’ digital camera – a Nikon Coopix 950 – which was an interesting piece of equipment. I of course didn’t have a clue – and I shudder to think of the mistakes I made then and later. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

After Snow in Emory (GA)
I always seem to be attracted to snow and ice. I found this photo in a little drainage ditch in Emory – I have the feeling I was quite near the university. I only seem to be able to find a small jpeg of it. My memory is of being freezing cold, but very happy trudging through the snow. The roads were quiet, ‘cos the Georgians didn’t seeem so keen to drive in the snow and so I was pretty much alone (which can be nice).
